ND receives transportation funds for COVID-19 relief
BISMARCK – The Federal Transit Administration under the U.S. Department of Transportation awarded funding in North Dakota for Coronavirus (COVID-19) response and relief efforts, U.S. Sens. Kevin Cramer and John Hoeven announced Friday.
Federal funding apportioned through the Coronavirus Aid, Relief and Economic Security (CARES) Act includes $18 million in Rural Area Apportionments to the state of North Dakota and $15 million in Urbanized Area Apportionments, which go to Fargo, $7.9 million; Bismarck, $3.76 million; and Grand Forks, $3.37 million.
Public Transportation on Indian Reservations Formula Apportionments totaled $986,307. Funding goes to Standing Rock Public Transportation, $426,059; Spirit Lake Tribe, $369,016; and Turtle Mountain Nutrition & Support Services, Trenton Indian Service Area Aging Program and Turtle Mountain Band of Chippewa Indians, $191,232.
