Murder suspect Donald Cooper Jr. held in custody in Milwaukee

Milwaukee County, Wis. jail records show that Minot murder suspect Donald Lee Cooper Jr., 27, is being held in custody there on $250,000 bond on six pending charges.

According to the U.S. Marshals Service, Cooper was captured last Friday in Milwaukee, Wis. He was fleeing from law enforcement there, ran a red light and crashed into another vehicle with two occupants. One person was dead at the scene and another was critically injured.

Sgt. Sheronda Grant, public information officer with the Milwaukee Police Department, said that the second victim of the crash died on Saturday.

No information is available about the exact charges in Wisconsin or about a court date.

Cooper is charged in district court in Minot with Class AA felony accomplice to murder, Class A felony attempted murder, Class C felony reckless endangerment and Class C felony terrorizing in connection with the Jan. 12 shooting death in Minot of Dominick Stephens, 29, and the attempted murder of Stephens’ passenger, Patrick Bost, 28.
