ND congressional delegation not tested for COVID-19

North Dakota’s congressional delegation and staff have not been tested for COVID-19, according to their offices.

Sen. Rand Paul of Kentucky was tested positive for COVID-19 (coronavirus), his office announced on Twitter on Sunday. Paul is the first senator to test positive for the virus.

“Senator (John) Hoeven is following the guidance of the Capitol’s Attending Physician, who has said the senator does not need to be tested as he has no symptoms and his exposure was limited. Similarly, no one on staff has reported any symptoms, and we continue to adhere to the CDC’s (Centers for Disease Control) suggested guidelines,” according to information from Hoeven’s office on Monday.

Sen. Kevin Cramer’s office said on Monday the senator and staff have not been tested for COVID-19.

“Congressman (Kelly) Armstrong has not exhibited any symptoms and has not been tested. The same goes for staff, “ according to information from Armstrong’s office on Monday. “Congressman Armstrong is encouraging all North Dakotans to practice social distancing to help ‘flatten the curve’ with the coronavirus. He is closely monitoring all federal and state response efforts.”
