Minot man arrested for robbery

A 49-year-old Minot man has been arrested for robbery in connection with a cell phone theft Saturday night, according to the Minot Police Department.

Christopher Macgillivray was charged with robbery, a Class C felony, and taken to the Ward County Jail.

Police report that officers were called at about 10 p.m. to a downtown business, where a reportedly intoxicated man was disorderly and refusing to leave the business, which was open for take-out orders.

When officers arrived, they located a 34-year-old male victim, who stated Macgillivray punched him in the throat area and took his cell phone after hitting it out of his hands. The victim pointed out Macgillivray, who was still in the area. MacGillivray was apprehended, and the cell phone was located about 15 yards away from the point of arrest.
