Minot Area Development Corp. will hold its annual meeting Tuesday, featuring keynote speaker James Leiman, director of Economic Development & Finance with the North Dakota Department of Commerce.

Leiman is a New Jersey native who served in the U.S. Army from 2000 to 2004. He later helped the U.S. Department of Veterans Affairs move to a “digital operating environment” to reduce the agency’s claims backlog and save money. He was employed as city administrator in Ada, Minn., before joining the Department of Commerce in 2018 as senior manager of economic development initiatives.

Annual meeting registration begins at 4:30 p.m. in Sleep Inn & Suites, with a reception at 5 p.m. and program and dinner at 5:30 p.m.

The annual meeting will provide a recap on 2019 accomplishments and a look at what’s in store for 2020. Out-going board chair Brekka Kramer and incoming board chair Randy Hauck will deliver remarks.
