Jiquan James, Minot, charged with burglary, domestic violence
Jiquan Miguel James, 24, Minot, is accused of kicking in the door to a woman’s residence early Sunday morning, forcing his way in and beating a woman during a domestic violence altercation.
James is charged in district court in Minot with Class B felony burglary committed at night and Class A misdemeanor domestic violence causing substantial bodily injury. He was scheduled to make an initial appearance in court on Tuesday before Judge Doug Mattson.
According to a probable cause affidavit filed with the court, the woman had a swollen right eye with a bruise forming under her eye, a 2 to 3 square inch abrasion on her forehead that looked like a rug burn and a large possible shoe impression that covered more than half of her forehead. She was also bleeding from her mouth and had a laceration inside her mouth on the lower right side of her lip. She also had a laceration on her ring finger on her right hand. Police spoke to the woman at a neighbor’s residence and she said James had hit her. James told police that he had only had a verbal argument with the woman and she kicked her own door down.
