High risk sex offender Brynner Rennecke pleads guilty to uploading child porn

High risk registered sex offender Brynner Phoenix Rennecke, 29, Minot, entered guilty pleas on Thursday to four Class C felony charges of possession of child pornography.

Under a proposed plea deal, the state would dismiss six other Class C felony possession of child pornography charges against Rennecke.

Rennecke would be sentenced to five years flat time on each of the first two charges, consecutive to each other, and a suspended five-year sentence on each of the second two charges, concurrent with each other and consecutive to the sentence on the second charge. Rennecke would be required to complete sex offender treatment while is in prison as a condition of release. Rennecke would be on supervised probation after being released. Rennecke would also be required to pay court costs.

North Central District Court Judge Stacy Louser ordered a pre-sentence investigation prior to sentencing. Rennecke will be sentenced at a later date.

According to a probable cause affidavit filed with the court, the Ward County Sheriff’s Department received a tip in December from the National Center for Missing and Exploited Children that led to Rennecke’s arrest.

Rennecke is accused of uploading to the internet between November and December 2019 hundreds of explicit images of children ranging in age from infants up to about age 12.

Rennecke used a neighbor’s Wifi to upload the images.
