Aaron Lunstad, Minot, pleads guilty to reduced charge of facilitation of delivery of heroin

Aaron James Lunstad, 26, Minot, who was originally charged with Class B felony conspiracy to deliver heroin, pleaded guilty on Thursday to a reduced charge of Class A misdemeanor facilitation of delivery of heroin.

Judge Todd Cresap sentenced Lunstad to 360 days in the Ward County Jail, all suspended but the 10 days he has already served, and two years of supervised probation.

Cresap also ordered Lunstad to obtain a chemical dependency evaluation and to pay $325 in court costs.

A co-defendant, Bridget Marie Loggins, 44, pleaded guilty last week to Class B felony delivery of heroin and Class B felony possession with intent to deliver heroin and was sentenced to five years in prison, with a requirement she serve two years, and three years of supervised probation.

Two other co-defendants, Joey Jesz, 26, and his brother Martin Jesz, 18, entered not guilty pleas to related charges on Thursday before Cresap. Joey Jesz is charged with delivery of heroin and conspiracy to deliver heroin, both Class B felonies. Martin Jesz is charged with delivery of heroin and conspiracy to deliver heroin, both Class B felonies, and possession of methamphetamine, a Class A misdemeanor.

According to a probable cause affidavit filed with the court, a confidential informant working for the Ward County Narcotics Task Force set up a meeting with Martin Jesz, 18, on Dec. 16, 2019, to purchase 1/8 ounce of heroin for $750, Martin Jesz, Joey Jesz, and Lunstad all came to pick up the confidential informant. The source of the heroin was Loggins, who goes by the name Mama B. Joey Jesz had called Loggins to set up the deal. Martin Jesz and Lunstad were arrested after they dropped off the confidential informant after the deal. Martin Jesz had a box with a bag of methamphetamine and a syringe on his person when he was arrested.

Joey Jesz and Loggins were arrested in Apt. 27 at 22 S. Main Street. Joey Jesz admitted to having a meth pipe in the bathroom. There was a record of phone calls between Joey Jesz and Loggins. A search of the residence turned up an additional two grams of heroin, digital scales, marijuana, a heroin smoking device with drug residue, a methamphetamine smoking device with drug residue, and a strip of Buprenorphine and Naloxone.
