Stephen Ensley, Minot, charged with possession of stolen car

Stephen Allen Ensley, 28, is accused of being in possession of a stolen motor vehicle late Wednesday evening.

According to a probable cause affidavit filed with the court, the vehicle’s owner spotted her stolen car parked at the Off Broadway Laundromat at 225 15th Avenue SW in Minot and called police at 11:33 p.m. on Wednesday. Police responded and saw the vehicle leaving the laundromat. The vehicle was stopped. Ensley was the driver of the vehicle. Heather Nicole Edwards was a passenger in the vehicle. The vehicle’s owner had reported the car stolen earlier and had not given anyone permission to borrow the vehicle.

Ensley is charged in district court in Minot with Class C felony possession of a stolen motor vehicle and Class A misdemeanor driving with a revoked license, a fourth or subsequent offense within five years.

Ensley made an initial appearance on the charge on Thursday before Judge Stacy Louser. A preliminary hearing in the case is scheduled for Jan. 7.
