Farm Credit Services of North Dakota recently announced that it has awarded the Des Lacs Burlington Elementary School $2,500 as a recipient of the Pat-NOW Community Fund. The grant funds will help update playground equipment.

Representatives from the Des Lacs Burlington Elementary School accepted the check and will put the grant funds toward their overdue and much-needed project. The check was presented by Farm Credit Services representative Matthew Sys.

“Farm Credit is proud to provide grant funds to the Des Lacs Burlington Elementary School to replace outdated and unsafe playground equipment,” says Sys, a loan officer with Farm Credit Services. The money will be used towards resurfacing the playground area and providing new play structures. The school playground equipment is utilized not only by the students during school hours, but before and after school programs and activities in the community. Farm Credit Services believes it’s important to give back to the community. “The project will positively impact the students as well as the entire town of Burlington,” Sys adds.

Farm Credit Services of North Dakota established the Pat-NOW Community Fund to assist in the implementation and development of projects and programs in local communities and rural areas in western North Dakota.
