Aaron Timm, Kathryn Kennedy charged with burglarizing storage unit

Aaron Matthew Timm, 20, and Kathryn Mae Kennedy, 21, Minot, are charged with burglarizing a storage unit on Tuesday, stealing a woman’s belongings, and then unloading the belongings and locking themselves in a southeast Minot trailer.

According to a probable cause affidavit filed with the court, the alleged victim reported that Timm and Kennedy had broken into the storage unit in Ward County and then hauled the items back to a mobile home at 816 41st Street SE. Some of the alleged victim’s items were strewn out in the driveway when a deputy from the Ward County Sheriff’s Office arrived. A Dodge Caravan was sitting next door to the mobile home with its rear driver side sliding door open and property hanging out of the van. Timm and Kennedy had locked themselves in the mobile home and initially refused to come to the door.

Law enforcement reviewed video footage from the storage unit and also talked to the alleged victim. The woman said one of her friends had come to her home and told her that Timm and Kennedy had broken into the storage unit. Shortly thereafter, the alleged victim and her friend went to the mobile home to confront Timm and Kennedy. The alleged victim said that she observed Timm carrying some of the property from her storage unit into the mobile home. She yelled at him and Timm dropped the item in the driveway and ran into the mobile home and turned off the lights.

Timm and Kennedy were placed under arrest. According to the affidavit, property from the alleged victim’s storage unit, some with her last name written on them, was located in the entryway of the mobile home.

Both Timm and Kennedy are charged with Class C felony burglary in district court in Minot. They made initial appearances on Wednesday before Judge Doug Mattson. A preliminary hearing in the case is scheduled for Jan. 16.
