ND oil & gas production declined slightly

Eloise Ogden/MDN North Dakota’s oil and natural gas production figures declined slightly according to information released on Tuesday. The production numbers still are close to record-setting numbers the previous month.

North Dakota’s oil and gas production declined slightly compared to records set a month earlier.

The state produced 1.44 million barrels of oil a day in September, according to the most recent information released on Tuesday. In August the state produced a record-setting 1.48 million barrels a day.

The North Dakota Department of Mineral Resources released new oil and natural gas figures on Tuesday.

The state produced 2.9 billion cubic feet of natural gas a day (preliminary figure) in September. In August the state produced an all-time high of 3 billion cubic feet of natural gas a day.

A preliminary new all-time high of 16,099 producing wells in September was set. In August the state had 15,964 producing wells.

On Tuesday, 55 rigs were actively drilling in the state.

Also on Tuesday, crude price was $46.75 a barrel for North Dakota light sweet and $56.16, West Texas Intermediate.

Fort Berthold Reservation is producing 344,564 barrels of oil. Sixteen rigs are actively drilling and there’s 2,280 active wells on the reservation.
