Minot State University to serve alcohol during athletic events

Alcohol served during athletic events

Beer and wine will be sold during athletic events in the Minot State University Dome. According to the website msubeavers.com, the university has an agreement to sell the adult drinks during “men’s and women’s basketball games and selected other events.”

Recent renovation of the MSU Dome included changes to the second level on the east side. A new seating area was created, complete with bar stools and table tops. Beer and wine sales will be restricted to that designated area.

“We have been working with an on-campus committee to create one of the best fan experiences in NCAA Division II athletics, and this is another way to offer more for fans attending our games,” said Andy Carter, MSU athletic director. “First and foremost, we are committed to providing a safe, family-friendly atmosphere in our venues.”

Alcoholic beverage sales will be restricted to the designated area on the east side of the Dome. No alcoholic beverages will be allowed outside the gated area.

The MSU men’s and women’s basketball teams hosted Dickinson State University last night. The next home game on the schedule for the men’s team is this Saturday against Montana State University-Billings. The next home game for the women’s team is set for Nov. 23 at 2 p.m. against Yellowstone Christian College of Billings.
