Francisco Flores Jr., Minot, sentenced to 20 months in jail for intent to deliver heroin

Francisco Javier Flores Jr., 26, Minot, was sentenced on Nov. 7 in district court in Stanley to 40 months in prison, with all suspended but 20 months, and two years of supervised probation for intent to deliver heroin, a Class A felony, on Aug. 8. He also was sentenced to 100 days in jail for providing false information to police. The sentences are concurrent.

Flores will receive credit for 91 days already served in jail, plus 13 days time off for good behavior. He must also pay $125 in court costs.

According to court records, Flores had nine individually wrapped baggies containing a combined 5.2 grams of heroin when he was stopped by the Three Affiliated Tribes police in New Town. Another law enforcement agency was called in to assist because Flores is not a tribal member. Flores also gave police a fake name. He was also wanted on warrants out of Ward County.
