Wreaths Across America seeks volunteers

Wreaths Across America is seeking more volunteers to help stage rebar crosses Monday, Oct. 28, at 10 a.m. in section 16 at Rosehill Memorial Park in Minot.

All volunteers are asked to meet near the Veterans Bell Tower at the cemetery.

People who have sent in applications for personal wreaths and are using section 25 to stage a cross or floral stand can pick up dogs tags in the cemetery office between 9 a.m. and noon and 1 p.m. and 3 p.m. on Monday, Tuesday, Thursday or Friday. Those who have not yet turned in an application and plan to sponsor a personal wreath for section 25 can also pick up dog tags at the cemetery office at the same time they turn in their application.

A few crosses staged at section 16 are red, white and blue and are intended for designated honorary veterans. The organization has been placing them there in the past five years. Those will have a dog tags on them so volunteers will be able to see how to place a cross or floral stand.

According to the organization, now is the best time to stage a cross or floral stand before the ground freezes or snow starts to stay on the ground.
