Reading to kitties
Andrea Johnson/MDN South Prairie Elementary second-graders read to cats Wednesday at the Souris Valley Animal Shelter in Minot. The second-graders have been learning about their community in their social studies class and teachers thought reading to the dogs and cats available for adoption was a way they could spark interest in reading and in helping out the shelter. The children also donated supplies to the animal shelter.
