Jerry Rounsiville, Minot, charged with burglary

Jerry Lee Rounsiville, 46, Minot, is accused of forcing his way into a south Minot residence on July 18 and punching another man in the face about two dozen times and swearing at him.

According to a probable cause affidavit filed with the court, the alleged victim told police he knew the reason Rounsiville assaulted him, but didn’t elaborate. The man told police he had not invited Rounsiville inside but had been watching television when he heard a knock on the door. Rounsiville then came inside and attacked him. The alleged victim accused Rounsiville of using a lot of cocaine. The man told police that Rounsiville then walked back to his own residence and he called 911. Police noted that the man was bleeding from his nose, but refused medical treatment.

Rounsiville is charged with Class C felony burglary in district court in Minot. He was scheduled to make an initial appearance in district court in Minot before Judge Gary Lee on Wednesday.
