Sierra Moran, Minot, given deferred sentence for child neglect
Sierra Rae Moran, 31, Minot, received a deferred imposition of sentence and three years of supervised probation on Thursday for neglecting her 2-month-old son in June.
Court records show that she was also ordered to obtain a chemical dependency evaluation and to pay $525 in court costs. If she complies with all the conditions of probation, the Class C felony child neglect charge will be dismissed. Another Class C felony child neglect charge was dismissed under the terms of the plea deal.
Moran left the baby in the care of her ex-boyfriend, a known drug dealer, on June 1 and the police were called to help her get him back. The ex-boyfriend is not the baby’s father. When police responded to the apartment, they noted that the apartment was cluttered and dirty and there was a bullet hole in the outside wall where the front door is attached. The bullet appeared to have been fired from inside the apartment.
