Regatta and Beach Party at Fort Stevenson

Fort Stevenson State Park, located three miles south of Garrison, will host the 7th Annual Fort Stevenson Regatta and the popular Garrison Chamber of Commerce Beach Party this Saturday.

The Regatta starts with a captains meeting at 9 a.m. in the de Trobriand Lodge. Racing begins at noon with the course length between 8 and 10 miles based on weather conditions. Spectators can view the race from the park’s bluffs overlooking Lake Sakakawea and from the Guardhouse Lawn. There is no fee to watch.

The annual Beach Party, with fun and food for all ages, will run from 5-11 p.m. There will be carnival-style entertainment with games and inflatables as well as live bands. The cost for Beach Party admission is kindergarten – adult $10, pre-kindergarten and under free.

The park charges a $7 vehicle entrance fee unless a state park annual pass is displayed. For more information, call the park office at 337-5576, or find them on Facebook and Instagram @fort.stevenson.
