Naqwantis Trenecia Mitchell, 32, Minot, is accused of strangling her sister and slamming her head against a wall during an argument on Wednesday evening.

Mitchell is charged with Class C felony aggravated assault in district court in Minot.

During her initial appearance in district court in Minot on Thursday, Judge Doug Mattson set bond at $2,500, with a requirement that Mitchell post 10 percent of that, and ordered Mitchell to have no contact with her sister.

A preliminary hearing in the case is scheduled for June 20.
