American Cancer Society fundraiser

Shyanne Belzer/MDN Tammy Holen, Flower Box, presents a check for $13,660 to Laurie Odden, Senior Community Manager for American Cancer Society. Behind them stands Polly Klemp, committee member, and Cindy Obenchain, accounting chair. The funds were presented after the annual Daffodil campaign was held in March. Around 2450 bunches of daffodils were sold across the state to raise funds for the American Cancer Society. This was Odden’s 13th year taking part in the campaign. She explained that daffodils were the chosen flower for the American Cancer Society because of their message: hope. The American Cancer Society uses this to reflect their own hope to find cures for cancer. Odden gave a big thanks to the Flower Box, to Holen and to staff. The American Cancer Society’s annual community based fundraising event, Relay for Life, will be taking place on June 8 in Minot.
