Ranita Freeman, Cando, sentenced for unauthorized use of personal identifying information
Ranita Lynn Freeman, 25, Cando, was sentenced on Wednesday to two years in prison, with a requirement that she first serve 30 days, and two years of supervised probation for making unauthorized charges on a credit card with information stolen from a man in Utah in December 2017.
Court records show that Freeman must pay restitution of $963.93 and court costs of $1,100. She will receive credit for nine days already served in jail.
Freeman made unauthorized charges on the card at Minot hotels and grocery stores. According to a probable cause affidavit filed with the court, she also made unauthorized charges on the card at locations in Fargo, Devils Lake, and Rugby, as well as at places in Minnesota.
