Judge Doug Mattson has ordered a psychological evaluation for Brandon Galonek to determine whether a lack of criminal responsibility defense might be appropriate for a charge of Class A felony gross sexual imposition.

Galonek, 20, is accused of having sex with a 14-year-old girl in Minot on June 27, when he was 19.

The girl was willing, according to court documents, but was too young to consent. A past defense attorney for Galonek said he has a low IQ and a developmental disability.

A pretrial conference in the case is scheduled for May 15 before Judge Doug Mattson.
