Local McDonald’s and Twiced Blessed work together
Funds to go to dental care van
Shyanne Belzer/MDN A check for $11,000 is being given to the Ronald McDonald Care Mobile to bring its dental services to Minot. Here members of the Doherty family, who own all the Minot McDonalds, and members of the Twice Blessed campaign pose with the large check.
The St. Joseph’s Community Health Foundation’s Twiced Blessed campaign is underway as the holiday season moves on quickly. Earlier this week, they paired their gift matching with the Doherty family, owners of the Minot McDonalds, to give funds to bring the Ronald McDonald Care Mobile to Minot.
The Ronald McDonald Care Mobile is one of the many cares that the Ronald McDonald house offer. Based in Bismarck, the mobile brings dental hygiene health and education to children who need it most. Wanting to help bring the mobile to Minot, the Doherty family went above the requirement to be matched by the Twiced Blessed campaign and donated $6000.
With the $5000 match given by St. Joseph’s, a check fro $11000 is being given to the Ronald McDonald Care Mobile to help costs of bringing the mobile to Minot.
“This kind gift will really help the cost to continue all the mobile provides,” said Kathy Kaiser, director at the Ronald McDonald House. “We are very thankful.”
The mobile is something very near and dear to the Doherty’s heart as Joe Doherty was once a dentist who travelled to provide care.
The Ronald McDonald Care Mobile serves about 1000 kids a year. It is expected to come to the Minot community in the early spring of 2019.
