Hattie Murray, Minot, sentenced for simple assault

Hattie Chante Murray, 25, Minot, was sentenced to 30 days in jail, all suspended but five days, and 360 days of unsupervised probation for beating up a woman in August whom she believed stolen drugs in August. She was also ordered to pay $350 in court costs.

The victim told police that she had been watching Jermeka Rogers’ child at a Minot residence and fell asleep on the couch. She woke up to find three people yelling at her. She told police that Murry punched her in the face with a fist and Austin Bercier put his foot on her neck and made it hard for her to breathe. The group stripped her and dragged her out onto the lawn. Bercier is serving a six month sentence for aggravated assault in the case.

Murray has also been charged with possession of heroin with intent to deliver, a B felony, and possession of methamphetamine, a Class A misdemeanor, in district court in Minot.
