City sets holiday schedule for closures

All City of Minot offices will be closed Monday, Dec. 24, and Tuesday, Dec. 25, in observance of the Christmas holiday, including City Hall, Public Works, the Minot Auditorium and the Engineering Department. City offices will also be closed Tuesday, Jan. 1.

City buses will not run on Dec. 24, Dec. 25 and Jan. 1. For water service emergencies, residents should call 852-0111.

There will be no garbage collection on Dec. 24, Dec. 25 and Jan. 1. Regularly scheduled collection resumes Jan. 3. For residents with regular Monday/Thursday garbage collection, the next collection will be Thursday, Dec. 27. For residents with regular Tuesday/Friday garbage collection, collections will take place today and Friday Dec. 28.

The City Landfill will offer free dumping between Dec. 26 and Jan. 5. Sanitation Superintendent Josh Kraft said residents can dispose of accumulated trash at the landfill free of charge during the holidays by bringing a current water bill as proof of residency. The landfill will be open its normal hours of 8 a.m. to 4 p.m., but will be closed Dec. 24, Dec. 25 and Jan. 1.

The city will again provide dumpsters at two locations for disposal of Christmas trees. The city will place dumpsters at Site #7, located at 16th Street and 16th Avenue Southwest (near KMOT) and at Site #3, located at 11th Street and 4th Avenue NW (Oak Park).

Minot Public Library will be closed Dec. 24 and Dec. 25., along with Dec. 31 and Jan. 1.
