City to seek public input on landfill plans

The City of Minot will host a public input meeting on Oct. 11 to gather information about the future of the city’s landfill operations.

The meeting will be held at 6:30 p.m. in Room 301 of the Minot Municipal Auditorium. City staff will conduct a presentation, followed by a comment session for those in attendance.

Jason Sorenson, assistant director of public works, said results from a lengthy study of options for future landfill operations will be discussed at the Oct. 11 meeting.

“We want to share the information we’ve learned from the study, but we also want to continue to gather public input before we move forward with any recommendation to the city council,” Sorenson said. “We encourage the public to share their thoughts with us surrounding the future of the city’s landfill needs.”
