Dakota Hope offers help in finding peace after abortion

Dakota Hope Clinic of Minot will be offering individual and group sessions this spring for women who seek peace and healing after a past abortion experience.

The eight-week group session will begin March 26 from 6:30 to 8:30 pm.

Abortion affects everyone differently. Women who had an abortion any time in the past and are experiencing any of the following or other symptoms may be having adverse effects from the abortion experience:

– Emotional deadening

– Increased tendency toward anger

– Feelings of loneliness or isolation

– Lower self-confidence

– Suffering from insomnia or nightmares

– Greater difficulty in maintaining relationships

– Use of drugs or alcohol

– Eating disorders

The individual and group sessions will be led by a team that includes a registered nurse and others who are specially trained or have personal knowledge of the pain and trauma of an abortion. The sessions will use a national curriculum called H.E.A.R.T., which includes prayer, self-examination and the use of Scripture in a compassionate and supportive environment.

Many women keep their abortions a secret and do not realize the negative symptoms they experience are connected to the abortions. After seeking healing, they often find relief from their symptoms and realize that when the experience is shared, the power of the secret is diminished.

Anyone interested can call Dakota Hope at 852-4675 or text to 978-705-3421 for more information or to register. Pre-registration is required and the location will be disclosed only to those who register for the group session. All services at Dakota Hope Clinic are 100 percent free and confidential.
