MAKOTI – Two men died and two others were injured in a one-vehicle rollover on Ward County Road 9, eight miles north of Makoti on Thursday.

The North Dakota Highway Patrol said the two men who died, one 29 and the other 37, were from Minot. Both were passengers in the vehicle.

A Minot man, 23, and a male passenger, 32, from Surrey were injured.

The 23-year-old, driving a 2017 GMC Sierra 3500 pickup, was going north on the county road when the vehicle drove off the right shoulder and struck an approach. The vehicle vaulted over the approach, entered the east ditch and rolled.

The driver was wearing a seat belt. The others were not and were ejected. Two of the men died on the scene. The accident happened at 8:08 a.m.

The names of those in the accident were not released at this time.
