Witness ‘The Greatest Show on Ice’

Submitted Photos The Magic City Figure Skating Club has worked hard throughout their season and uses their annual show to help showcase the growth of their many skaters. This includes skaters of all levels from Snowplow Sam 1 to nationally tested Gold level skaters.

“The Greatest Showman” meets the ice in the Magic City Figure Skating Club’s show “The Greatest Show on Ice.” Featuring 65 skaters of different skill levels performing to the soundtrack of “The Greatest Showman” for their 40th annual show.

Taking to the ice Saturday at 7 p.m. and Sunday at 2 p.m., the skaters will perform at Pepsi Rink in the Maysa Arena.

The 40th annual show is expected to be quite the treat with eye-catching costumes and talent. The show is put on each year to showcase the progress that the various skaters have made throughout the season.

“I want them to know what talented skaters we have in our club,” said Barb Kohlman, program director of Magic City Figure Skating Club. “We work hard throughout the year on developing skills. This year our skaters have attained great achievements and this show showcases all of their talent.”

Alongside their skates, Magic City Figure Skating Club will be bringing in special guests to perform at the show. The Capital Ice Connections synchro team will join the Magic City Figure Skating Club to perform their program that placed them sixth in the nation.

The show will also feature Magic City Figure Skating Club’s own Leah Neset and her partner, Dimitry Tsarevski.

Performers for the show from Magic City Figure Skating Club include skaters of all talents from Snowplow Sam 1 to skaters who are nationally tested Gold level skaters. Skaters range from ages three to 17.

Tickets for the two different showings can be purchased for $8 in advance at Dakota Chappy, Jax and Henley and the Taube Museum of Art. On the day of the event, tickets can be purchased at the door for $10.
