Minot City Band to present Father’s Day concerts
The Minot City Band will present it’s fourth and fifth concerts of the 2018 season in honor of Father’s Day on Sunday at the band shell in Oak Park. Concerts will be held at 4 p.m. and 7 p.m.
The Father’s Day concerts will feature Minot State University horn instruct Deanna Carpenter. A graduate of both Indiana University and the University of Minnesota, she is also Principal Horn with the Minot Symphony Orchestra. Carpenter will be performing the Richard Strauss “Horn Concerto No. 1.”
Other works to be performed by the City Band include “A festive Overture” by Dimitri Shostakovich, “Three Ayers from Gloucester” by Hough Stuart, “Requiem to a Land Forgotten” by Robert Sheldon, “Holiday for Horns” by Jack Jarrett, “Comedians’ Galop” by Dmitri Kablevsky, “The Sinfonians” by Clifton Williams, and “Semper Fidelis” by John Philip Sousa.
The public is welcome and there will be no charge for entry.
