Creative Night Out set for Aug. 3

Creative Night Out brings the diverse talents of the community to downtown Minot, running on the first Thursday of each month through September.

August brings Crazy Dayz Salez going on through out the day at participating retail shops.

Hot Spots for August are: Artspace Suite 1 Gallery with its featured Visual Artist Carol Fielhaber, Blue Rider, Budget Music & Video, Gourmet Chef, Main Street Books, Mainstream Boutique, Margi’s Art Glass, Off the Vine, Oliver’s Attic, Seasons Floral, Taube Museum of Art, Urban Winery, 3 Little Pigs Food Truck, Artist Booths and Street Musicians.

The Aug. 3 Creative Night Out events from 5:30-6:30 p.m. will feature Visual Artists Diane Kessler and Erica Jespersen. This mother and daughter team will open their studio that is located at 7A East Central Ave. #201 for a tour and talk.

“I have been creating decorative wall finishes for 25-plus years. In addition to walls, I also do countertop refinishing, custom floral arrangements and wedding bouquets. I repurpose antiques and give them new life” said Kessler.

Erica Jespersen is a student at Minot State University majoring in art. She creates custom wall art and helps her mom with her faux decorative painting business, creating wall finishes for

clients.

Hoopspiration AKA Jamie Zammert is the 7-7:50 p.m. feature will be hosted outside 62 Doors Gallery & Studio. Zammert started hooping for health around 2008. It quickly became a passion and grew to

encompass many other flow arts props and fire. She now teaches hoop dance, makes and sells custom dance hoops, performs at events, runs a free community group, and a free community fire group that became a fantastic troupe now called “Full Moon Fire Club.” She is also a mother of two handsome little dudes.

The 8 p.m. music feature will be the sounds of Pagan Holidays hosted at Otis & James. The Pagan Holidays is a musical project that consists of members of the band Marigold and the posthumous Crooked Gospel. They are the cockroaches of the Minot music scene, infesting it for two decades. Otis & James will open the doors to their new location at 115 1st Avenue NE.
