Outdoors LIFE: Camping returns to State Parks

Kim Fundingsland/MDN Campers have begun returning to State Parks for the summer season. This photograph was taken at Fort Stevenson State Park one week ago. State Parks had been open for “no service” camping but opened for “limited service” camping this past Thursday with water, sewage, electricity, and dump stations expected to be available. Availability of services varies from park to park. Visitors centers have opened up after being closed for several weeks in response to on-going coronavirus concerns. Some facilities, such as concession buildings, picnic shelters and rental units, are available to the public but visitors should check with each park for particulars. Fish cleaning stations are scheduled to open June 1. All promotional events scheduled for State Parks this summer have been postponed pending further developments with the coronavirus pandemic.
