Clinic welcomes back clients with space-themed event
Young clients at Minot Center for Pediatric Therapy were over the moon about returning to in-person therapy last week.
Coming off of two months of telehealth visits, clinic staff adopted a space theme for the re-opening on May 18, dressing in NASA T-shirts, decorating the clinic and serving cookies shaped like stars, moons, Saturn and rocketships.
“We were looking at some fun ways to make it a little less intimidating,” said Kylee Geer, speech pathologist and clinic owner. “We are wearing face shields and didn’t want any child feeling nervous about it so an astronaut/space theme seemed like a good idea.”
The clinic provides occupational and speech therapy for clients from birth to age 21 who have developmental delays, autism or communication disorders.
Geer said the clinic typically does a couple of themed events a year. Like past events, the recent one was well received.
“Everyone has been really excited coming in,” Geer said.
About 75% of clients are resuming office visits. The remainder are continuing with telehealth.
