Michael Lucy, an American Family Insurance agent in Minot, has been recognized for providing outstanding customer experience under the American Star Excellence in Customer Experience Certification Program. The award is determined through an evaluation process that includes a customer satisfaction survey which measures customers’ overall experience with their current American Family agent.

NDSF manager elected to regional post
Renae Korslien, manager of the North Dakota State Fair, has been elected president of the Mid-West Fairs Association after serving as vice president and program chair for one year.
Korslien succeeds Ralph Shoptaw of the Arkansas State Fair. Bill Dutcher of Metro Park in Billings, Mont., was elected vice president.
The association is made up of expositions around the entire country. It began in 1922 as the Middle West Fair Circuit. During those times the purpose of the circuit was to negotiate railroad contracts on behalf of the fairs and their livestock exhibitors. Today, the association’s mission is to provide educational opportunities to its members throughout the year, with an annual three-day conference featuring classes and exhibitors.
Burckhard, Merck honored by agency
Kevin Burckhard and Jason Merck, representatives of Northwestern Mutual, in Minot, recently received awards for 2014. Burckhard qualified for Premium Leader. Merck was awarded Lives Leader and Client Relations Center Representative of the Year. Jason also qualified for the 100 Lives Club.
Northwestern Mutual is the marketing names for The Northwestern Mutual Life Insurance Company, Milwaukee, Wis., and its subsidiaries.
Signal Realtors annual leaders announced
Signal Realtors recently held its 2014 awards banquet. The Top Producer of the Year for 2014 and Salesperson of the Year was awarded to Larry Sundbakken.
Number one listing volume was awarded to Duane Peterson.

Herrmann, Ogaard now with First Western
Sabrina Herrmann has joined First Western Bank & Trust as a marketing specialist. A Minot native, she graduated from Minot High School and Minot State University with a dachelor’s degree in accounting and a master’s degree in science of management. Herrmann has worked in a variety of higher level management positions locally and also has her North Dakota insurance license.
Katie Ogaard, a Souris native, graduated from Westhope High School and Minot State University with degrees in marketing and business management. Ogaard was working for Blue Cross Blue Shield of North Dakota before starting with the bank. Ogaard also has her life and health insurance licenses in North Dakota. She was hired at First Western Bank & Trust as an executive assistant.

Austin Becker has joined the Ackerman-Estvold Minot office as a civil engineer. Becker earned a bachelor of science degree from North Dakota State University, Fargo, in December. His previous work experience includes three years as a summer intern and project manager with Brosz Engineering. Becker has joined the transportation division and will be designing a variety of transportation projects throughout western North Dakota.
DelRae Zimmerman received awards for being a “Top Producing Broker,” the “Tops In Listings Sold” the “Tops in Volume” and the “Top Producer” for 2014.
