North Dakota Council on the Arts hosts its Statewide Arts Convening

The North Dakota Council on the Arts (NDCA) has announced their Statewide Arts Convening and Governor’s Awards for the Arts. They invite those interested in the arts to attend to get together, learn and share. The focus of the convening will be on “Sharing Our Stories” to learn more about the impact that what we say, how we say it and to who it is said has to help ensure success in creative endeavors.

The Statewide Arts Convening will take place March 19-20 at the North Dakota Heritage Center and State Museum in Bismarck. The Statewide Arts Convening will take place from 8 a.m. to 5 p.m. on March 19 with the Governor’s Awards for the Arts reception offering an elegant evening starting at 5 p.m. The awards presentation will start at 6:30 p.m. On March 20, the convening will start at 8 a.m. and run through 12:30 p.m.

The North Dakota Governor’s Awards for the Arts program is presented by the Governor’s Office and NDCA to recognize organizations and individuals who have made outstanding contributions to the arts in the state. The recipients to be honored at this years awards program will be Annette Hovey from New Rockford for Arts in Education, Jamestown Fine Arts Association for the Arts Organization, John Gross from Napoleon for Cultural Treasure, David Borlaug from Bismarck and Jesse Veeder from Watford City for Individual Achievement, and Office Sign Company from Fargo for Private Business.

Registration and tickets are required for the Statewide Arts Convening and the Governor’s Awards for the Arts. Online registration is available at the North Dakota Council on the Arts site.
