Covid 19 update. Governor de-
clared a mask mandate for all build-
ings. Inside our buildings it does not
matter if we are 6 feet apart, we still
must wear our masks. If we are out-
side students may take a mask
break if they are 6 feet apart. Before
the mask mandate 80% of our stu-
dents were wearing masks and now,
we are at 100% participation. In the
elementary they give mask breaks
during the day. There are no activi-
ties in our buildings until further no-
tice. It has been a very small per-
centage of our elementary and high
school students that have tested po-
sitive. We have more students dis-
tant learning now and we should see
many returning after the Thanksgiv-
ing break.
A motion was made by Brown and
seconded by Sundsbak to approve
the Superintendent evaluation as
presented. Motion carried.
Principal report: Mrs.
Andersen-Elementary had 94% at-
tendance rate for Parent Teacher
Conferences. Elementary celebrat-
ed World Kindness Day and the 5th
and 6th grade classrooms are writ-
ing to pen pals. Working to boost
staff morale in the building. Mr.
Brown- Finally have a routine down
to get our students going into
quarantine set up in distance learn-
ing with thanks to our teachers for
making the transition easy. Shout
out: to all of the staff for dealing with
constant changes/unknowns we
have had and their willingness to
help out in the building; to Wendy
and Kyla for willingness to help out
ANYWHERE in the building; to stu-
dents for all working together and
going with the flow. Mr. Medalen-
Thanks to the office, teachers and
paras as they continue to stay as
“connected” as possible during
these times. P/T conferences were
postponed in the HS. Emma Buee
participated in NW Music Festival at
MSU on October 30th and 31st.
Sports update: Volleyball ended
their season placing 2nd in Region-
als. We had 3 players on All District
and All Region teams- Z. Reed, A.
Hughes and A. Wille. Have been
working on the fall coaches’ evalua-
tions. Wrestling and JH GBB had al-
ready started practices and JH had
played two games when they shut
down all sports. GBB and BBB had
not started yet. Will be a challenge
to get games in with the shortened
seasons.
Superintendent report: Enrollment is
up 2 from last month and our final
numbers were up 2 from last year
which helps our funding. ESSER Ed
Corps and Resiliency Grants have
helped with our budget. There is
also a chance we would be able to
get more funds in the future.
Northwest School Leaders say the
biggest challenge is the shortage of
staff for most schools. Shout out to
Carrie for covering the office and
everywhere else she was needed
when Jody and Lannette were out.
Semester test schedule has been
given to teachers and all distance
learners must take tests in person.
Next meeting will be Wednesday,
