Souris River Joint Board Request

for Sealed Bids

The Souris River Joint Board is re-

questing sealed bids for land for re-

sale which was purchased by the

Souris River Joint Board through

voluntary acquisition.

If a bid is accepted by the Souris

River Joint Board, the land will be

transferred via quitclaim deed. The

land includes a perpetual deed res-

triction prohibiting construction of

structures or placement of fill within

the 2011 Mouse River flood plain. All

existing covenants will remain in

place.

Each bid must include a five percent

bidders bond in a separate envelope

attached to the bid envelope. Ac-

ceptable will be cashier checks,

bidder bond, or cash. All envelopes

shall be sealed and the face of the

envelope shall be clearly marked

“SRJB Land for Resale” and must

include the legal description of the

land being bid on. All bids must be

River Joint Board reserves, to itself,

REGULAR SCHOOL BOARD

MEETING

WEDNESDAY, OCTOBER 7, 2020

President Ron Aberle called meeting

to order at 5:00 pm. Board members

present Ron Aberle, Dustin Mize,

Steph Munos, and Nicole Wald.

Also, present Superintendent Gerd-

ing, Principal Hansen and Business

Manager Twila Gantzer.

Estimated Property Tax & Budget

Public Hearing: The public hearing

was open by board President Ron

Aberle. There was no one in the au-

dience wishing to speak. The public

hearing was closed.

Superintendent: Mr Gerding ex-

pressed his thanks to the kitchen.

We are enjoying new items on the

menu and our students are loving it.

Mr Gerding shared 3 quotes for a

tilting skillet. Head cook-Michelle

Kraft discussed the lack of equip-

ment to preparenew meals properly.

The tilt skillet would allow the

kitchen staff to prepare a wider

variety of lunch items. Mr Gerding is

positive we can cover the cost of this

skillet. The board would like to see

a priority list to work from. M/S/C

Mize/Munos to approve the pur-

chase of the tilt skillet.

Minutes: M/S/C Munos/Wald to ap-

prove minutes from September 9,

2020 meeting as amended.

Business Manager’s Report: The

financial reports were presented.

M/S/C Wald/Mize to approve finan-

cial reports as presented and ap-

prove payment of September payroll

& benefits in the amount of

$388,004.71; September board bills:

General Fund- $13,077.25; Food-

$8,928.71. Prepaid Check Register:

General Fund- $11,229.60; Activity

Fund- $4,686.85; Food- $213.31. All

voted yes. Open Enrollments # 76,

77, 78 Out, tabled to get additional

information. M/S/C Wald/Mize to ap-

prove tuition agreement # 79 Out.

Roll call vote, all voted yes.

Mrs. Hansen: The school’s Face-

book page is set up. Some of the

settings need to be looked at.

Unfinished Business: Audit Sugges-

tions: All employment contracts have

been created for ancillary staff. Mr

Gerding will be reviewing them for

presentation to the board.

New Business: Advanced Ed: Mrs

Wald is asking what the plan is for

advanced ed and students being

tested. Mrs Hansen reports the team

has a list of questions and they are

working on those.

The next regular board meeting will

be Wednesday, November 11th at

5:00 pm.
