Judge says ex-cop's comments admissible in sex assault trial

STANTON (AP) — A former Beulah police officer who investigators say admitted to sexual contact with a teenager has lost his request to have his statements thrown out in his upcoming trial.
Former officer Dustin Pekas argued his comments to North Datoka Bureau of Investigation agents in September are not admissible because he didn’t have an attorney. But South Central District Judge Bruce Romanick ruled last week that “the tenor of the interview was not a domineering situation.”
