Minotauros storm back to beat Aberdeen

Trailing 4-2 heading to the third period, the Minot Minotauros stunned the Central Division leading Aberdeen Wings Friday evening with three third-period goals for a 5-4 victory at Maysa Arena.

Keenan Lund scored the game-winning goal on the power play with 3:34 remaining, assisted by Levi Kleiboer and Fritz Belisle.

Belisle had netted the game-tying goal eight minutes prior. Didrik Henbrant had the other third-period goal.

Aberdeen outscored Minot 3-1 in the second period after both teams scored in the opening frame. Minot’s Andrew Kangas scored a pair of goals across the first two periods, as did Aberdeen’s Joe Strada.

The Minotauros outshot the Wings, 37-31.

The two teams are back in action for a rematch at 7:35 p.m. this evening at Maysa Arena.
