Majettes hockey shuts out Williston

WILLISTON — The Minot High School girls hockey team (6-5) handled its business on the road Thursday night, dominating the Williston Coyotes (0-14) en route to a 4-0 victory.

After a scoreless first period, Minot’s O’Malley Eslinger finally got the puck rolling for the Majettes in the second period. The junior forward went unassisted with 3:02 left on the clock to give her team the 1-0 edge.

It took just one minute for that lead to double, as Kaya Shaw found the back of the net off an assist from fellow juniors Brenna Abrahamson and Averi Bradley.

A penalty shot goal by sophomore Paige Ackerman and a score by junior Carson Abrahamson (assisted by Eslinger) in the third period ultimately sealed the Majettes’ 4-0 win. Sophomore goalkeeper Amber Borkhuis finished with 19 saves on the night.

Next up for Minot is a road match against Dickinson on Saturday at 2 p.m.
