Sabre Dogs fall to Trappers in Game 2, outslugged 19-13
Despite posting 13 runs on Tuesday, the Souris Valley Sabre Dogs ultimately fell to the Pierre Trappers 19-13 in the finale of a two-game series.
The Sabre Dogs got down 3-0 early in the first inning, but after a five-run second inning, Souris Valley led 6-3 heading to the third inning.
Pierre piled on seven runs in the top of the third and never looked back. Though Souris Valley continued to threaten, the Sabre Dogs never retook the lead in the high-scoring matchup.
DJ Lewis started the game for Souris Valley and earned the loss after three innings of work. Tyler McDonald picked up the win for Pierre with four innings-pitched.
Chauncey Callier went 3-for-4 at the plate and drove in three runs, while Kam Armstrong added three RBIs in a 3-for-6 performance.
The Sabre Dogs fall to a 7-4 record on the season and turn their attention to a three-game series with the league-leading Badlands Big Sticks. The series begins today at 6:35 p.m. at Corbett Field.
