Sabre Dogs drop a 6-2 decision, split series with Sasquatch

The Souris Valley Sabre Dogs fell 6-2 in the second game against the Spearfish Sasquatch to split the two-game series. The loss gives Souris Valley a 9-7 overall record in their inaugural season.

EJ Ranel and Justin Glover delivered the lone RBIs for the Sabre Dogs. Ranel hit one over the right field wall for a solo home run, while Glover came up with a sacrifice RBI groundout to the first baseman.

Minot State’s Aaron Kern pitched 6 innings for Souris Valley, recording two strikeouts and allowing four earned runs. Marcelo Terrazas pitched the final three innings, giving up just one run on a solo home run by Spearfish’s Tom Imholte.

Souris Valley does not have a game today: their first scheduled off day since May 28. They will play on the road at Pierre on Tuesday before returning home for an eight-game home stand starting Wednesday at Corbett Field.
