Majettes hockey trounces Williston 7-0

WILLISTON — The Minot High girls hockey team skated past Williston for a 7-0 shutout road victory Tuesday to keep its spot near the top of the season standings.

The Majettes (5-2-0) got two-goal performances from both Dessa Flom and Olivia Weisberg.

Weisberg scored the first two goals of the game in the first period, seperated by less than five minutes. Weisberg has five goals on the season. Flom had the other first period goal to put Minot up 3-0 after one.

Maggie Sem and Kaya Shaw each scored in the second period.

Defender Breanna Abrahamson picked up her first point on her first goal of the season halfway through the third period.

Flom capped the score at 7-0 with an assist coming from Shaw. Flom has a team-high 12 goals in seven games this season, while Shaw leads the team with seven assists.

Minot freshmen goaltenders Amber Borkhuis and Madison Knudson split time in earning the shutout.

Next up, the Majettes are taking part in a tournament in Minnesota being held Dec. 26-28 at the Warroad Gardens.
