MSU’s Goudeau named NSIC Defensive Player of the Week

BURNSVILLE, Minn. – Minot State junior Kiante Goudeau has been selected as the Northern Sun Intercollegiate Conference Defensive Player of the Week the conference office announced on Monday.

Goudeau helped lead the Beavers to a 23-13 victory over St. Cloud State on Saturday in Minot State’s season finale by tying the school record with three interceptions. Goudeau returned two of the interceptions for touchdowns and sealed the win with an interception late in the fourth quarter.

Goudeau put the Beavers in front 10-0 in the first quarter when he returned his first interception of the day 30 yards for a touchdown.

Midway through the fourth quarter, Goudeau intercepted a pass and returned it 45 yards for a score that upped the Minot State lead to 23-7 with 8:17 to play.

His final interception came on the Minot State 32-yard line with 1:08 remaining in the game, which gave the Beavers the victory.

Goudeau led the Beavers with five interceptions on the season and returned three of them for touchdowns.

Goudeau becomes the second Minot State player to be named Player of the Week joining JoseLuis Moreno who was selected as the NSIC Special Teams Player of the Week on Nov. 6.
