MSU senior leads Beavers to exhibition win

VALLEY CITY — Senior Tyler Rudolph scored 29 points and grabbed 10 rebounds leading Minot State to an 86-76 victory over Valley City State in an exhibition game on Monday.

Rudolph, an all-conference and all-region selection last season, picked right up where he left off last season by posting a double-double in the Beavers first contest of the season after leading the Northern Sun Intercollegiate Conference with 14 double-doubles last season.

Junior newcomer David Akibo poured in 25 points for the Beavers, while Nathaniel Moore added 11 points and Kody Dwyer chipped in with 10 points. Luis Ricci Maia finished with seven points and six assists.

Minot State shot 53.3 percent from the floor for the game and 88.9 percent from the free throw line. The Beavers also owned a 34-25 rebounding advantage.

The Beavers will return to action on Wednesday when it hosts Dickinson State in an exhibition game at 4 Bears Casino & Lodge at 7:30 p.m.
