The Minot High School volleyball team made quick work of Turtle Mountain Community High School Tuesday with a 3-0 home sweep by set scores of 25-4, 25-7, 25-6.

The 17 points given up in the match was a season-low and moved Minot back above .500 with a 16-15 overall record (5-7 West Region). TMCHS dropped to 1-24 overall (0-11 West Region).

“Used the opportunity to get all the girls in tonight switching to a 6-2 (formation) for sets two and three,” MHS coach Sherry Carlson said. “Anytime you can give varsity court time to your bench helps prepare them for that atmosphere.”

All 14 players on the roster got on the court for Minot.

Senior Elise Klein had 10 out of the Majettes’ 30 kills. Caitlyn Messner had seven kills and a team-high two blocks. Senior setter Brooke Nelson tossed up 20 assists.

Minot racked up 17 aces, eight from senior Kali Askvig and four from senior Ashlyn Almy.

The Majettes remain at Minot High School with a 7 p.m. home match Thursday against Bismarck St. Mary’s (17-16, 6-7 West Region). Minot lost a five-set match to the Saints earlier this season in Bismarck.
