Bean, Kreutz open with 76 at Ichabod Invitational

TOPEKA, Kan. — Minot State golfers Matthew Bean and Matthew Kreutz each fired an opening round 76 on day one of the Ichabod Invitational hosted by Washburn on Monday at the Topeka Country Club.

Bean and Kreutz are tied for 25th overall in the individual standings after carding five-over par 76’s over the par-71, 6,647-yard layout at Topeka Country Club.

Minot State is 13th overall in the team standings with a team score of 309 after the opening round. Central Oklahoma leads the field with a score of 284, while Lindenwood and Washburn are tied for second with a team total of 292.

Sean Semmens and Leighton Bearchell rounded out the Beavers scoring foursome on day one. Semmens is tied for 63rd overall after shooting an opening round 78, while Bearchell is tied for 74th with a score of 79.

Carson Harcourt also competed for the Beavers and he posted a round of 81 and is tied for 86th overall in the standings.

Wesley Jackson of Central Oklahoma leads the medalist chase after posting a four-under par 67 on his opening round.

The Ichabod Invitational will conclude on Tuesday at the Topeka Country Club.
