Magi golf captures third straight win, WDA title

WILLISTON — The Minot High School boys golf team concluded the regular season by winning its third straight invite – fifth of the season – at Links of North Dakota on Monday.

With the result, Minot High also seized its third consecutive WDA regular season title with a scoring average of 317.89.

At the Williston Invite on Monday, the Magi put together a team score of 320 with Spencer Ross (78) placing third, Kessler Heilman (80) and Easton Evanoff (80) tying for sixth and Damyn Boyce shooting a 82.

Led by medalist Carter Klein (72), St. Mary’s placed second, four strokes back (324) from Minot. Century (329), Turtle Mountain (333) and Bismarck High (334) rounded out the Top 5.

Other Minot individuals were Luke Moen with an 83 and Otto Langhans carding an 89.

The West Region tournament will take place in Bismarck at the Riverwood Golf Course on May 30. The two-day Class A state tournament is a week later on June 5-6 in Grand Forks.
