Dignan races to win

Garrick Hodge/MDN Several cars fight for position during a heat race Sunday at Nodak Speedway in Minot.

Kenmare’s Riese Dignan cruised to a win in the IMCA Hobby Stock A Feature Sunday night at Nodak Speedway.

Dignan, who also won the first of three heats earlier in the evening in the No. 144 car, held off Minot drivers Cole Hanshew, Jason Ruby, Andrew Bertsch, Dana Brandt and Kadi Ruby for the win.

Kadi Ruby, in the No. 9 car, won the B Feature.

In the IMCA Sport Mods, Minot’s Kelly Henderson picked up a win in the B Feature event, outlasting Dickinson’s Luke Krogh for the win. Minot’s Matt Lizotte and Williston’s Brady Bjella were third and fourth respectively.

Minot’s Jeff Hooker, in the No. 7X car, won the A Feature, as Westhope’s Robbie Conway came in second and Isaac Sondrol, of Turtle Lake, came in third.

In the IMCA Stock Cars, Kenmare’s Cody Nelson placed first in the B Feature, while Minot’s Rob Stenvold and Brett Woznicki were second and third, respectively.

Bismarck’s Jason Berg captured a win in the IMCA Sports Compacts, defeating Craig Kastner, also of Bismarck, in the two-car race.

No other information was available prior to press time.

Holiday weekend racing resumes this evening at Nodak Speedway as another night of racing begins at 6 p.m.
